Yes — meeting people is free. There’s one optional subscription, Aroha Plus, that adds a few genuinely useful extras. It never sits between you and talking to someone.
We don’t sell visibility, ration your hellos, hide your likes behind a paywall, or build an endless feed to keep you scrolling. We aim to make money when the app is genuinely good, not when it’s hard to put down.
Safety is built in because the goal is meeting in person. There’s photo verification, a “safety circle” of trusted contacts who can be looped in on a plan and alerted if you don’t check in, and one-tap blocking and reporting. Your contacts never see your matches or chats.
